These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to your use of forj.com and to any purchase you make from us. By using the site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
1. Who we are
forj.com is operated by ResinFiber, LLC (“Forj,” “we,” “us”), PO Box 500, West Boothbay Harbor, ME 04575. You can reach us at info@forj.com or (740) 649-0701.
2. Using Forj safely
Forj is a thermoplastic repair material that you heat, shape and let cool. Please read the instructions and FAQ before use. By using Forj you agree that:
- Keep away from small children. Forj is not intended for small children. Mishandling can cause burns and is a choking hazard. Forj should never be ingested.
- Heat carefully. Heat Forj to about 140°F (60°C) to shape it. Do not heat it above 190°F (88°C): the fibers that give Forj its strength will be permanently damaged, and it can cause severe burns. Avoid open flame. Forj bonds to itself above 130°F (54°C), so store it somewhere cool.
- Stay within working load limits. A 22 mm width of Forj has a breaking strength of 1,000 lbs. The ribbon is 1 in wide, so this rating is conservative. When there is a risk to life, property or the environment, a prudent working load should not exceed 10% of breaking strength (100 lbs). Without those higher risk factors, the maximum working load should not exceed 25% of breaking strength (250 lbs). The strength of any repair also depends on how it’s made, the number of layers, temperature, wear and the load it carries.
- Never use Forj for climbing or fall protection. Do not use it for climbing, rappelling, fall arrest or any use where it holds a person’s body weight. For other uses where failure could cause injury, keep the working load under 10% of breaking strength (100 lbs), as described above. First-aid uses, such as a temporary splint, are for emergencies only and are not a substitute for medical care.
- Check your repair. Inspect repairs before each use and replace them if they show wear, softening or damage.
3. Orders and pricing
All prices are in U.S. dollars. We work to keep product information and prices accurate, but errors can happen. We may refuse or cancel an order, including after it’s been placed, if a product is unavailable, a price or description was wrong, or we suspect fraud. If we cancel an order you’ve paid for, we’ll refund you in full. An order is accepted when it ships.
Wholesale purchases are covered by separate terms agreed with each wholesale customer. See Wholesale.
4. Payment
Payments are processed securely by our payment provider (WooPayments). We don’t store your full card number. By paying, you confirm you’re authorized to use the payment method. Sales tax is added where required.
5. Shipping, returns and refunds
Shipping is free within the U.S. When orders ship, how to return an item, and how damaged or wrong orders are handled are all covered in our Shipping & Returns policy, which is part of these Terms. Risk of loss passes to you when your order is delivered to the carrier.
6. Warranty disclaimer
We replace products that arrive damaged or defective as described in our Shipping & Returns policy. Except for that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, Forj and this website are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Some states don’t allow these exclusions, so they may not apply to you.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for damage to items you repair, arising from your use of Forj or this website. Our total liability for any claim related to a product is limited to the amount you paid for that product. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
8. Photos and reviews you send us
When you send us photos, videos, reviews or stories (for example by email, by tagging @ForjRibbon, or by posting a review), you confirm you have the right to share them and you give us a free, worldwide, non-exclusive license to use, edit and display them, with or without your name, on our website, social media and marketing. You can ask us to remove your content at any time by emailing info@forj.com.
9. Our content and trademarks
The text, photos, graphics and logos on this site belong to us or our licensors. Forj® is a registered trademark. You may not copy or use the Forj name, logo or “Heat. Shape. Fix.” for commercial purposes without written permission.
10. Privacy
How we collect and use personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maine, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Lincoln County, Maine, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes apply to orders placed after the “Last updated” date above.
